The goal is to develop an assessment of the drug discovery and development stages, from target identification to submitting preclinical and clinical data to regulatory authorities for marketing approval. Following introductory lectures on the drug development process, students working in small teams analyze how new drugs or one of the drug candidates passed through the discovery / development environment. In each case, an external expert from the sponsoring pharmaceutical company or the Pivotal Clinical Principal Researcher leads and criticizes the team's presentation.
